Ensuring access to Mental health care
Empowering people suffering from mental illnesses and their families
We seek to rally and engage communities, social groups, faith-based institutions, and individuals to work for the wellbeing of vulnerable and underprivileged persons in their communities.
FOMCAM Community and Mental Health Organization is humanitarian initiative of the founder established in 2008 as a community, non-profit mental health organization based in Bamenda, Cameroon after several years of experience working at the grassroots communities and vulnerable persons in Kimbi village of the North West Region of Cameroon. The most vulnerable being those re-settlers suffering from the effects of the lake Nyos Disaster in Kimbi Village. As a grassroots non-profit mental health organization, we promote activities that facilitate the mental health and well-being of victims of rape, torture, child trafficking, gender based violence, as change-makers. We champion the course of supporting activities that creates an awareness in the field of sexual reproductive health, peace building, nutrition for malnourished children, and Agribusiness (Agriculture & Self-Help Microfinance) at the grassroots communities with limited or no facilities for this purpose.
All our actions stem from the belief that primary needs are not only material. Addressing persons’ intangible needs is indeed also essential to their well-being and dignity.
